Cochrane District Trip June 2018
Photos from a trip to the Cochrane District of Ontario June 19 to June 23, 2018. Unfortunately two of these days were cloudy and cold. En route we hoped to check for odes along Route 17 which parallels the Ottawa River but it rained both days.

Midland Clubtail, Gomphus fraternus, along a road following a power line just to the west of Route 655 north of Timmins on June 20, 2018 . Paulson’s Dragonflies and Damselflies of the East does not show this species in this area.

Taiga Alpine, Erebia mancinus, at a bog at Fraserdale on June 21, 2018. This species has previously recorded seven times in the Cochrane District, the most recent record is from 1987. This is at the eastern edge of its range in Ontario.

Amber-winged Spreadwing, Lestes eurinus, at a bog south of Fraserdale along Route 634 on June 22, 2018. Paulsons’s Dragonflies and Damselflies of the East does not show this species in this area.
